Fil-Am Guy Chooses To Leave Rich Life In The US To Stay In The Philippines,Now Works As Security Guard!

It’s not every day that you would see a foreigner-looking person working in lowly jobs in the Philippines but Fil-Am guy Chase Marcum III doesn’t mind his job as security guard in Parañaque to support his family. While many might think that Chase was just dressing up or perhaps a foreigner who was down on his luck at his home country, they’re absolutely wrong.

Chase is here for good – and he actually had a rich life in the US! He had a rather good life in Sta. Rosa, California where he graduated with a degree in Anthropology. Not only did he earn around $2,000 to $3,000 (Php100,000 to Php150,000) on his business, he also had a house and a car there.

But his life changed one day when he traveled on vacation to the Philippines. He was so captivated by the beauty of the country that he felt his 3-week vacation wasn’t enough; he wanted to live there! "Dalawa o tatlong linggo doon ako sa Boracay kasama tatay ko. Sobrang maganda ang lugar dun.

White sand, sobrang clear ang tubig. Maraming fresh na seafoods" he said with a smile – and no, we didn’t translate those words to Filipino, Chase how to speak the language!" He’s been staying in the Philippines for years, working as security guard in Parañaque to support his Filipina GF Jeremae Silvano and their son.
But how did he become a security guard?

Yung OIC namin dati tinanong n’ya ako kung gusto ko guwardiya trabaho kasi kulang sila. ‘Talaga?’ Sasabihin ko, ‘Sige’, he revealed. It was, of course, a strange choice for a Fil-Am guy to make as he could have chosen to work in a call center or some other high-paying job yet he never felt happier with his life now.
He also believes the job is important as he’s protecting his ‘kababayans’. Maraming tao hindi intindi bakit ako dito kasi may business, may bahay, may magandang kotse. Pero wala akong paki sa pera, wala akong paki sa gamit, sa kotse. Inisip ko mas importante masaya,” he concluded. You may see it on the source below:
