A famous Chinese daredevil known across the internet for scaling skyscrapers fell to his de*th while trying to raise money to get married and lift his family out of poverty. In a tragic accident, famous Chinese rooftop climber Wang Yongning di*d after falling from a 62-storey skyscraper in Changsha, China.
The daredevil, who was a master of base-jumping, was known for walking along rooftops, hanging from high-rise buildings, and even doing pushups on the side of skyscrapers. The stunt that ended Wu’s life was part of a rooftopping challenge for $15,000 in prize money.
Wu di*d in the central China tragedy on November 8, the day he stopped posting videos of his skyscraper exploits on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. A video of the incident has gone viral. He had huge online fan more than 1 million followers on the social media platform with his videos of stunts that he performed without safety nets.
Wu’s girlfriend confirmed his de*th on Weibo on December 8 only a month after his de*th, according to the China News. According to South China Morning Post, Wu’s uncle said that he was reportedly trying to win the money to propose to his girlfriend, as well as take care of his mother.
“He planned to propose to his girlfriend,” his step-uncle Feng Shengliang revealed. “He needed the money for the wedding, and for medical treatment for his ailing mother.” Wu warned his viewers against imitating his actions, noting that he had martial arts training and had served as a stuntman in movies.
One of his former companions claimed that Wu regularly “went a bit over the top, always trying things that are beyond his ability,”. The rooftopping trend, which has been growing in popularity, has resulted in numerous de*ths around the world.
