A happy Christmas party ended up really badly for a group of friends when one woman collapsed after hitting some high notes while they were having fun using the karaoke. According to a report on China Press, Singaporean model Karen Stella Wong was with friends, enjoying their Christmas party at a karaoke bar on Neil Road in Chinatown, Singapore last December 15.
Karen who is a well-known model in car shows and exhibitions had been singing with her friends when she suddenly felt excruciating pain in her head after hitting some high notes. The model collapsed as she felt numb on one side of her body. Her shocked friends immediately brought her to the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for treatment but she slipped into a coma. It turned out a blood vessel burst inside her skull, causing internal bleeding that led to the stroke. Sadly, she never woke up from her coma and died three days after the incident. Doctors determined the cause of death as acute intracerebral hemorrhage.
As expected, her family and friends were quite shocked over what happened since Karen had been healthy and didn’t show signs that she had a medical issue prior to the incident. It was also heartbreaking that she died just a few days before Christmas. Her body was cremated on December 20, with the ceremony attended by around 100 people. Her mother would post a heartbreaking message the following day, “If I can hear my daughter’s voice and see the smile on her face, that would be my biggest wish for this Christmas.”
